The Lebanese Hezbollah announced on Tuesday the targeting of the Miron base "for aerial surveillance" in northern Israel in response to assassination operations recently accused by the occupation of carrying out in the region.

This is the second time that Hezbollah targets the Miron base, which includes an Israeli military facility responsible for aerial surveillance operations of the Israeli Air Force. It announced its shelling on the sixth of this month with dozens of rockets in response to the killing of the deputy head of the political bureau of Hamas, Saleh Al-Arouri, in Beirut.

Hezbollah said in a statement, "The Islamic resistance fighters targeted (...) the Miron base for aerial surveillance on Mount Hermon for the second time, in response to the recent assassinations in Lebanon and Syria and repeated attacks on civilians and houses in our steadfast villages."

It also indicated that the base was shelled "with a large number of suitable rockets and they achieved direct hits."

The Miron base is about 7 kilometers away from the border with Lebanon. The station is responsible for monitoring air traffic from northern Israel to the center and is known as one of Israel’s eyes that sees everything.

The "Miron" base is concerned with organizing, coordinating, and managing all air operations towards Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Cyprus, and the northern part of the eastern Mediterranean basin.

The base forms a main center for electronic jamming operations in the mentioned directions. A large number of elite Israeli officers and soldiers work at this base.
