Passengers were rerouted to different flights after an Air Canada plane collided with another on the runway of Vancouver International Airport on Sunday afternoon.
While being pushed back from the gate, the wingtip of an Air Canada Rouge Airbus A319 touched the wing of a Jazz Air Canada Express Q400 aircraft, which was parked at a nearby gate, a spokesperson for Air Canada said in a statement emailed to CTV News.
The spokesperson said that none of the passengers or ground crew were injured, and the Q400 was scheduled to fly to Nanaimo, and it is still set to depart on Sunday – albeit with a three-hour delay.
Passengers on the A319 were rebooked onto a different aircraft – a Boeing 737 – which is scheduled to leave for Quebec City at 6:15 PM.
