Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said today, Thursday, that his country supports Israel's right to defend itself, adding that the price of justice cannot be the continued suffering of Palestinian civilians.
He also added on his account on the X platform (formerly Twitter): "We are deeply concerned about the catastrophic impact (of the war) on civilians, especially children in Gaza, and call for a humanitarian ceasefire to allow aid to be delivered."
Trudeau called for the "immediate and unconditional release of those held by Hamas."
He said Canada is working to evacuate its nationals and all foreign nationals from Gaza.
