Two teenagers face charges after breaking into a school in Eskasoni, New South Wales, causing thousands of dollars in damage, leading officials to close the school.
The Canadian police responded to a call from a school on Richard Street at around 7:30 AM on Tuesday after receiving a complaint that someone had broken into the building. Staff told the police that windows were smashed and the school suffered severe damage.
They estimate the cost of the damage to be more than $15,000. Police arrested a 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy in connection with the incident.
The teenagers face charges of assault with violence and vandalizing school content and equipment estimated at more than $5,000. They were released on conditions.
The police say the school is expected to be closed for several days to repair the damages.
