Eight dead and hundreds of thousands of homes without electricity after severe storms

The Canadian authorities announced on Saturday the death of eight people following violent storms in the east of the country.

Nearly 900,000 homes in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec are also experiencing power outages.

To the north, in the federal capital Ottawa, a person lost his life due to thunderstorms, but the local police, during a press conference, declined to provide further details.
