The "Agence France-Presse" reported that the Louvre Museum in Paris closed its doors today, Saturday, to visitors "for security reasons."
It quoted a museum spokesperson: "We chose to evacuate visitors and close for one day to carry out the necessary checks."
He also added that "the Louvre Museum received a written notice of a threat to the museum and its visitors," and that the museum closed its doors at noon.
Since yesterday, Friday, France has been in a state of "high alert" following the terrorist attack on the Aras high school, which is the highest level of the preparedness plan for combating terrorism.
A teacher at the high school in Aras was killed, and several people were injured in an attack carried out by a man with a knife, who shouted "Allahu Akbar."
Furthermore, the Élysée Palace announced today, Saturday, the deployment of 7,000 soldiers as part of a counter-terrorism operation due to emerging threats linked to the recent developments in the Middle East.
