Chinese Central Television (CCTV) reported on Friday that ten people lost their lives and three others were injured in a gas explosion that occurred in a workshop in Ordos city in Inner Mongolia, northern China.
The television quoted local authorities stating that a high-pressure gas explosion happened on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the deaths of eight workers in the workshop.
Moreover, Xinhua News Agency reported that four workers were injured, and one of them later died.
CCTV also reported that local authorities found another body at the accident site, and an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the explosion.
Gas and chemical explosion accidents occur frequently in China after years of rapid economic growth.
China is intensifying inspection and testing operations, but factory and workshop accidents remain common.
