The beloved Canadian star Celine Dion participated in the closing ceremony of the long-awaited 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. In the days leading up to it, French Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra said during a television interview on Wednesday that Dion's presence in Paris "is not a coincidence."

Global singer Celine Dion appeared at the end of the ceremony to shine in the sky of France amid a wonderful atmosphere and numerous cheers from her fans after her long absence due to her illness.

Paris celebrated its reputation as the cradle of revolution, as the first Summer Olympic Games in a century kicked off on Friday with an opening ceremony drenched in rain and breaking the rules, adorned with stars and imagination along the Seine River.

The intermittent rain – the first rain in the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in over 70 years – did not seem to dampen the enthusiasm of the athletes. Some carried umbrellas while riding boats in the river, showcasing the resilience of the city as authorities investigate suspected sabotage targeting France's high-speed rail network.

The ceremony featured the opening of a tightrope walker who captivated everyone at the event by walking a long distance from an elevated position.

All participants in the Paris Olympics applauded the acrobat, impressed by his balance and his spectacular performance.

For the first time in Olympic history, the opening ceremony takes place outside a stadium, held on boats in the Seine River.

The display involves 85 boats stretching over 6 kilometers on the Seine River. More than 6,000 athletes, 3,000 dancers, and 300,000 spectators are expected to participate.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11.

More than 206 countries are participating in the Paris Olympics, represented by about 10,500 athletes competing in 32 different sports.
