Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand said her country is enhancing its capacity at a major transport hub in Scotland to be able to ship weapons and supplies more easily to Ukraine and other countries in Eastern Europe.
Anand explained in statements to the Canadian news network (CBC) News that Canadian forces have been responsible for delivering four million pounds of goods since last March, noting that the Prestwick center in Scotland will now be expanded to enhance the main weapons supply capability for Ukraine.
Anand added, "We are expanding the ways in which we help Ukraine and provide military assistance to it," noting that Ukraine had requested from the Canadian government armored vehicles, artillery, and winter clothing.
The Canadian Defense Minister said her country had pledged to deliver 39 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine and had delivered $626 million in military aid to Ukraine since last February.
