In a tweet on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said "she spoke with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, who updated her on the latest developments on the ground between the Palestinians and the Israelis."
Adding, "We agreed to continue working together, including to stop the escalation and free the hostages."
Joly did not specify in her tweet who the hostages she was referring to are, whether they are prisoners from both Palestinian and Israeli sides or those captured during this bloody war by Hamas, whose final number has not yet been officially announced, though some media indicate that they have exceeded 100 Israelis.
