Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the urgent transfer of player Yasser Al-Shahrani on a private plane for treatment in Germany, after he suffered a serious injury in the match between Saudi Arabia and Argentina.
Yasser Al-Shahrani sustained a very severe injury to his leg on Tuesday during the match between the Saudi national team and the Argentine national team, as a result of a direct collision with goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais.
Saudi media reported that the examinations Yasser Al-Shahrani underwent showed that he had a fractured jaw and damage to some teeth.
The Saudi national team did not disclose the duration of Yasser Al-Shahrani's absence.
Twitter users and bloggers posted a video on social media showing the moment the Saudi player Yasser Al-Shahrani was injured after colliding with his teammate goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais.
The video shows Al-Owais requesting an ambulance for Al-Shahrani when the referee delayed responding to the request, and Al-Owais insisted until the round judge responded, after which Al-Owais collapsed to the ground crying, fearing for his teammate's life.
