U.S. President Joe Biden warned of a "complete cut" in relations between the United States and Russia if Moscow continues on its current path.
Biden responded to a journalist's question in this regard by saying that "there will be a complete cut in U.S.-Russian relations if Russia continues on the path it is currently taking."
In response to a question about the possibility of a new Cold War breaking out, Biden said that "it depends on different matters," and that "the rest of the world strongly opposes" what Russian President Vladimir Putin is doing.
He continued: "This will be a cold day for Russia" because there are "few who support him."
Biden refused to comment on whether he would take steps to urge China to participate in the "isolation" of Russia.
The U.S. president announced the imposition of sanctions on Russia affecting various sectors of its economy, following the Russian military operation in Ukraine that began on the morning of Thursday, February 24.
