The South Korean fire authorities said today, Wednesday, August 2, 2023, that the death toll from the heatwave in the country this summer has risen to 23. This represents three times the cases recorded last year.
Furthermore, the heat warning level remains at 'dangerous', which is the highest warning level.
They also reported that the country recorded a total of 21 deaths believed to be caused by the heatwave from May 20 until the end of July.
Additionally, two more deaths were reported yesterday alone.
