The Iraqi immigrant in Sweden, Slwan Momika, again burned a copy of the Quran today, Saturday, in the city of Malmö under police protection, which arrested two people who were among the protesters against this incident.
This comes after Slwan Momika, who organized several "events" to burn the Quran, received permission to hold a new event in the Swedish city of Malmö.
A video clip showed the Swedish police arresting some individuals who protested against this act.
Sveriges Radio reported via an audio message published on the radio's website that Slwan Momika, who was behind several Quran burning events in Sweden in recent weeks, has now received permission to hold what was described as another "event" in Malmö.
According to the radio, the event will take place tomorrow morning, Saturday, while the newspaper Aftonbladet indicates that the police have issued a permit for the event. Momika has held several Quran burning events, including on the first day of Eid al-Fitr for Muslims, at the main mosque in Stockholm, which was carried out with police permission on June 28.
Iraq has demanded that the Swedish authorities hand over the immigrant who organized this act for trial, and dozens of Iraqis gathered to protest outside the Swedish embassy in Baghdad.
Momika's latest event was on September 3, where the SVT television channel reported that an unknown person attempted to disrupt the event, but the police arrested him, followed by protests. The police noted that unknown individuals set fire to cars and threw stones at law enforcement officers.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and several of its members strongly condemned the burning of the Quran, while Swedish authorities stated that they would begin reviewing the Public Order Law, which allows for Quran burning events.
