The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that mediation efforts between Hamas and Israel have resulted in reaching a humanitarian ceasefire agreement, with the timing of its commencement to be announced within 24 hours.

Hamas announced early Wednesday the reaching of a humanitarian ceasefire agreement, "a temporary ceasefire," in the Gaza Strip for four days through intensive Qatari and Egyptian efforts.

Hamas said in a statement about the details of the ceasefire, "After difficult and complicated negotiations lasting many days, we announce that we have reached a humanitarian ceasefire agreement (temporary ceasefire) for four days, through intensive and appreciated Qatari and Egyptian efforts."

According to the agreement, a ceasefire will be implemented from both sides, and all military operations of the occupation army will cease in all areas of the Gaza Strip, and the movement of its military vehicles infiltrating the Gaza Strip will stop.

The statement added, "Hundreds of trucks carrying humanitarian, relief, medical aid, and fuel will be allowed into all areas of the Gaza Strip, without exception, north and south."

It continued, "The release of 50 detainees held by the occupation, including women and children under the age of 19, in exchange for the release of 150 women and children under the age of 19 from the occupation's prisons, all according to seniority."

The movement's statement said that under the agreement, air traffic in the (south) will be stopped for the entire four days, with air traffic in the (north) halted for six hours daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the occupation committed during the ceasefire period not to harm or arrest anyone in all areas of the Gaza Strip.

The movement said the agreement also stipulates ensuring freedom of movement for people (from north to south) along Salah al-Din Street.

Hamas said, "The terms of this agreement have been formulated according to the vision and determinants of the resistance, aimed at serving our people and enhancing their steadfastness in facing the aggression. Its eye is always on their sacrifices, suffering, and concerns, and it managed those negotiations from a position of steadfastness and strength on the ground, despite the occupation's attempts to prolong and delay the negotiations."

It added, "While we announce reaching the ceasefire agreement, we affirm that our hands will remain on the trigger, and we will remain vigilant to defend our people and repel the occupation and aggression."

Earlier, the Israeli government approved a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas and the establishment of a temporary ceasefire in the sector, according to an official statement.

This announcement came at the end of a cabinet session that extended until early today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where all ministers supported the deal except for three extremist ministers belonging to the Religious Zionism party.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of Hamas - had announced that they are holding 200 prisoners out of about 250 Israelis in total captured by Palestinian resistance factions in the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7.

The Qassam Brigades also previously announced that Israeli bombing on the sector caused the loss of more than 60 Israeli prisoners in the sector since October 7 until now.
