A Canadian author said that a production company affiliated with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has purchased the screen rights to her romantic novel.
Karly Fortune announced in an Instagram post that she is "over the moon to announce her collaboration with Netflix and Archewell Productions, owned by Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, in adapting her book 'Meet Me at the Lake.'
The book is about a couple in their thirties who randomly go on a life-changing day adventure in Toronto, where Meghan was living when she met Harry.
Fortune did not clarify whether the novel would come in the form of a movie or a series, but she said that the love story of the book is dear to her heart, and she cannot imagine a more perfect partnership.
Fortune added that writing the book was a massive personal challenge, and seeing it recognized in this way is truly incredible.
Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, moved to the United States, and since then, they have launched several initiatives, including a Netflix production deal and the non-profit Archewell Foundation.
