The Prayer of Love by the poet Raheef Hassoun

Isn't there a morning behind this night?!

And after our quarrel, is there reconciliation?!

The edifice of love, we have built its summit

And every folly, demolishes a palace

Far from you, exiles have exhausted me

And between our ribs, how deeply a spear has pierced

And from the pain of memory, I became delirious

I write the flame of my longings and erase

And heavy promises bury me

I sleep on my torments and wake up

Hell is every land where you are not

Without your eyes, this universe is a wound

By your Lord, my angel, forgive me

Or else kill me, since I insist

Stabbed in the labyrinths of nights

On my hope of the sacrificed, salt was spilled

I am tired of betrayal, forgive me

For in your palm for the bird is wheat

The prayer of passion, I have melted in it

Without the ablution of your love, it is not valid
