A small plane crashed on the runway at Jean Lesage International Airport in Quebec City this morning, Tuesday, injuring the pilot.
Quebec City police said the incident occurred at 9:22 AM. On Twitter, Jean Lesage Airport mentioned that the plane was an Orizon Aviation Cessna 152 with one passenger on board. The pilot was also taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The airport spokesperson, Alexander MacGraw, said: "We do not know the cause of the incident at this time, but emergency services were immediately deployed."
The incident was captured on video, showing the plane taking off, then spinning before hitting the ground and crashing.
The airport also confirmed that the incident occurred on the main runway and caused delays for some flights.
The aircraft is expected to be removed, and the runway restored in the coming hours.
