Antaya Grace Patricia Dennis, 12 years old, is a child prodigy about to become the youngest Canadian to graduate from university ever.
Patricia Dennis is expected to walk across the University of Ottawa stage on Saturday with her cap and gown to receive a Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree, having started the program when she was nine, at a time when most of her peers were playing during recess.
Patricia Dennis said in an interview with "CTV News," "I will be proud of my graduation and I hope I don't fall off the stage, I will be happy for myself too, not just for other people, I am proud of myself because I reached this point, despite all the obstacles faced by someone like me."
Her mother, Joanna Dennis, the most supportive and proud person of her, said, "She realized her daughter was special when she was two and a half years old, she has felt that since then."
Dennis was a single mother while building her own academic career, and after obtaining a number of degrees, she is now a law professor and played a key role in educating her daughter.
