Canadian authorities announce the start of arresting truck protesters who are besieging the Canadian capital.. Four people were arrested on charges of planning to kill police, and Ottawa police wrote on “Twitter” that “some protesters surrendered and are being arrested this morning Friday local time in front of the Parliament building.”
Police had already arrested two protest leaders late last night Thursday, and closed many areas downtown to visitors from outside Ottawa.
The police said in a tweet on Twitter that protesters placed children between police operations and the illegal protest site.
The police clarified that these children were protected and taken to a safe place.

The children will be brought to a place of safety.
The capital represents the last stronghold for what protesters call the “Freedom Convoy” after weeks of demonstrations and sit-ins that closed border crossings linking Canada to the United States, causing economic damage in both countries.
A large number of truck drivers have vowed not to leave even if it means prison or losing their licenses under the Canadian emergency law.
Meanwhile, the Canadian House of Commons, the lower house of Parliament, suspended its activities today Friday, as police began dispersing hundreds of truck drivers angry about the restrictions imposed by the authorities because of COVID-19.
Ottawa police clarified yesterday Thursday that it is preparing to end the siege near the Parliament building and remove more than three hundred trucks.
House of Commons Speaker Anthony Rota emphasized to MPs today Friday the necessity of "staying away from the heart of downtown until further notice due to the expected police operation.”
Parliamentarians were able to carry out their work continuously over the past three weeks despite the protests taking place in Parliament Square by participants in the “Freedom Convoy.”
On Monday, Trudeau resorted to the Canadian emergency law, which authorizes law enforcement to ban sit-ins as “illegal,” remove trucks, arrest drivers, freeze their bank accounts, and suspend their licenses.
Initially, protesters across the country took to the streets in trucks, farm tractors, and RVs in protest of the vaccine restrictions imposed on truck drivers entering the country.
But the movement quickly turned into a broad attack on the COVID-19 precautionary measures and Trudeau’s government.
