The Canadian Air Force responded to an emergency call for rescue on Monday after a hiker needed urgent medical assistance while in "Algonquin" Provincial Park, located northeast of "Huntsville".
An emergency call came to the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in "Trenton, Ontario" around 12:30 PM.
Major "Trevor Reed" told CTV News that the hiker fell ill in the area of Pencher Lake on the western side of the park, requiring urgent medical intervention.
Due to the nature of the location, a search and rescue team was sent to the scene in a CH-146 Griffon helicopter.
The helicopter was unable to land in the narrow area, so the crews chose to hoist the patient into the aircraft and then transfer him to Huntsville Hospital. Reed said there are no details available about his condition.
