With a few hundred people inside the Lamplighter Inn hotel in London, Ontario, the co-chair of the London Health Coalition (LHC) stormed the stage and shouted at Doug Ford, saying: "You are privatizing our healthcare, and you need to be honest with the people of Ontario."
He was escorted out by security and held backstage, but was eventually released after the event ended. Hanks said from the parking lot after the incident: "It was very scary, but I am fine." "I just hope people know that they are privatizing our healthcare." He was one of the few people who wanted to make their voices heard.
Shortly after Hanks was taken out of the meeting, Humberto Ponce de Leon stood on the stage and was quickly grabbed by security guards.
Ponce de Leon said after the gathering, "I think I have the right to tell people before voting that Doug Ford is truly a fraud."
"I mean, the Conservatives have destroyed this province and this country, you know, at the expense of the most vulnerable. If we re-elect this man, our healthcare system will be in grave danger." As they escorted them outside, Ford continued his speech.
Ford said, jokingly referring to Hanks and Ponce de Leon: "People are excited, they’re very excited."
