The coup leaders in Niger announced in a new statement a ban on the activities of political parties in the country until further notice, while French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna stated that the coup in Niger is not the end and there is a prospect for resolving the crisis.

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna emphasized today, Friday, that the coup in Niger is not "final" yet, hoping that the coup leaders who have detained the country's president will respond to international calls to return to democratic rule.

Colonna also said: "If you hear me talking about a coup attempt, it is because we do not consider things to be final, and there is still a way out if the officials (of that attempt) listen to the international community."

Colonna announced today that President Mohamed Bazoum of Niger is "in good health" despite the coup plotters holding him at his residence.

She added that Bazoum spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday. She added: "He is reachable, and he also said that he is in good health."

In this context, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that Washington has not seen any reliable indicators of Russian involvement in the Niger coup.

Karine Jean-Pierre also said, "I know there are questions about the Wagner Group. So far, we have not seen any reliable indicators of Russian or Wagner involvement. But for U.S. citizens in the country, once again, we encourage them to remain vigilant and cautious."
