A school in "Arras," northern France, witnessed a knife attack on which a teacher was killed and two others were seriously injured on the morning of Friday, October 13, 2023, according to local authorities and a police source.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced via the ''X'' platform (formerly Twitter) that the attacker, a young man in his twenties and a former student, stormed an institute in the city of Arras in northern France, killing a teacher with a knife and injuring others, while students were prevented from exiting.
It was noted that the young man shouted ''Allahu Akbar'' and was stopped along with his brother, who is of Chechen origin.
The National Assembly suspended its operations, and French President Macron went to the institute accompanied by Education Minister Gabriel Attal and the Interior Minister.
This attack also comes ahead of the anniversary of the killing of teacher Samuel Paty on October 16, 2020, under similar circumstances and also at the hands of a Chechen.
