The Kingdom of Morocco issued a statement regarding the attacks by the Israeli army and settlers on Al-Aqsa Mosque, stating, "The Kingdom of Morocco strongly condemns the Israeli forces' storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the assault on the worshippers and terrifying them during the holy month of Ramadan.
Adding, the Kingdom of Morocco, whose monarch chairs the Jerusalem Committee, emphasizes the necessity of respecting the legal, religious, and historical status in Jerusalem and the holy sites and avoiding practices and violations that would destroy all chances of peace in the region.
Explaining that the Kingdom of Morocco affirms its rejection of such practices that will only increase the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories in complexity and tension and undermine efforts to achieve calm and rebuild trust.
On the other hand, the Council of the League of Arab States is holding this afternoon an emergency meeting at the level of permanent delegates, chaired by Egypt, to discuss the situation in the city of Jerusalem in light of the occupation's arbitrary procedures at Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the assault on the worshippers and those observing i'tikaf therein.
