The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) reported on Thursday the arrest of two suspects alleged to be connected to two home robbery incidents committed on November 24 at two residences in the city.

The police force stated, through a press release, that the homes are located in the Mont Royal and Saint Leonard sectors.

The SPVM also reported that it believes the detained suspects are part of a cell belonging to an international criminal network specialized in home burglaries.

The detainees are Jordan Camilo Garcia Prada, 29 years old, and Alvaro Sebastian Barra Orgulia, 24 years old, mentioned in the SPVM statement. "They were found in possession of stolen items (jewelry, laptop, checkbook), a wireless frequency jammer, and burglary tools. A search of their home, located in the Plateau Mont Royal neighborhood, also allowed the team to investigate the discovery of other property stolen during a similar burglary on a home in Laval.

The SPVM also said that both suspects appeared before the Montreal court on November 25. They have been charged with trespassing, entering, and hiding property, and will remain in custody.

According to the information provided by the police, the investigation and arrest of the suspects were conducted by the Western Project Investigation division, supported by neighborhood police centers and several specialized units.

The police also said the investigation will continue and encouraged anyone with additional information about the suspects to contact 911 or the local police station.
