There was some relief at the pumps this weekend as gas dropped below two dollars per liter in Ottawa.

Prices fell by nearly ten cents, but with increased demand at the pumps, fuel ran out at some stations.

This was the case at a station on Eagleson Road, which had no gas for hours. Workers at the station wrote a sign on all the pumps saying, "Out of gas, sorry."

The workers added that they waited for a fuel truck from about 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

The delay caused many to leave without refueling. Those who were on the road this weekend feel the high price of gas and all types of fuels.

Osama Naveed, who was traveling from Milton to Ottawa this weekend, said, "The total cost of driving was about $80."

Ted Vonbutcher, a resident of Ottawa, said, "My truck's price was about $100 or so, and now it’s close to $200 to fill it."

He said, "I hope these prices eventually come down. I think people have coped well with gas prices at this point."

While there was some relief, experts say it won't last. Dan McTeague, head of the Energy Supply Center, said: "I expect we will likely return to $2.10 per liter within the next week or so."
