Hamas movement confirmed the assassination of the deputy head of its political office, Saleh Al-Arouri, in the explosion that shook the southern suburb of Beirut.

Hamas said in a statement that Al-Arouri was assassinated along with two leaders of the Al-Qassam Brigades (the military wing of the movement) in Beirut.

This came at a time when the Israeli occupation army said that Al-Arouri was assassinated in Beirut.

An explosion occurred in the Al-Sharqiya area in the southern suburb of Beirut, and the explosion caused severe damage, with dense flames observed as a result of this targeting.

The Lebanese news agency said that the explosion that took place in the Al-Mashrafieh area in the southern suburb of Beirut targeted an office of the Hamas movement.

It added that the explosion that occurred on Tuesday evening resulted in the death of four people and a number of injuries.

This explosion comes amid the military confrontations between Hezbollah and the Israeli occupation army, which began on the eighth of last October, the day after the start of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah had warned Israel against assassinating any Arab or foreign figure present in Lebanon and held it responsible for the consequences of that.
