The York Regional Police said they responded to a shooting incident on Highway 7, west of Weston Road in Woodbridge, just before 9:30 a.m. today, Saturday.
The police added that a 34-year-old man was subsequently transported to the local trauma center in life-threatening condition.
There is no information yet about the potential suspects.
The police described the shooters as two men in their thirties, the first wearing a black tracksuit and the second suspect wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket. They were driving a black car, the type of which has not yet been identified.
The police also ask anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has video surveillance from the area to contact the investigators.
