A delegation including the Foreign Ministers of the Palestinian Authority and four Arab and Muslim countries began talks in the Chinese capital Beijing, as part of an immediate international effort to stop the war waged by the Zionist entity on the Gaza Strip.
The delegation included Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, and the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hussein Ibrahim Taha.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said during his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that "the war in Gaza must stop immediately and we must move towards a ceasefire," adding, "We have seen huge numbers of civilians falling in Gaza so far and we are still facing serious developments that require effective international action to deal with and confront, including the ongoing violations by Israel."
He pointed out that they came carrying a clear message that the war must stop immediately.
For his part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that "there was a declared policy to displace Palestinians from Gaza, but the strong Egyptian and Arab stance rejecting the displacement was a red line," warning that displacement would threaten peace, security, and stability in the region and the world.
He stressed that Egypt is making every effort to bring in aid to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, but the policy of the occupying entity to hinder the entry of aid is a systematic policy aimed at pushing Palestinians to leave the strip under the pressure of bombing and siege.
Shoukry also expressed regret that "unfortunately some major countries provide cover for the current Zionist aggression."
It is worth mentioning that the Arab and Islamic summit tasked the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Palestine to start an immediate move to stop the war on Gaza, and decided to break the siege on Gaza and impose the immediate entry of convoys of aid, food, medicine, and fuel into the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced that "the situation in Gaza affects all countries around the world," noting that his country is working to restore peace to the Middle East.
Wang said in his opening speech in Beijing, "A humanitarian disaster is unfolding in Gaza.. The international community must act urgently and take effective measures to prevent the expansion of this tragedy."
He also added that his country fully supports the call for a two-state solution issued by the Arab Islamic summit held in Riyadh to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, noting that China will work to restore peace in the Middle East.
