The British Foreign Office announced another step by London to prevent Russian President Vladimir Putin from accessing the foreign military equipment that Russia uses in its invasion of Ukraine.
According to the British Foreign Office, 22 individuals and 3 other foreign companies in various countries have been placed on London's sanctions list.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the Iranian company "Baravar Pars" and 7 of its officials have been placed on the sanctions list in the country for their role in the research, development, and production of drones for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, referring to the country's new sanctions package against foreign military support for Russia, stated: “Today's historic sanctions will reduce the stockpile of Russian weaponry as much as possible and will close the supply chain that supports Putin's defense industry.”
It is noted that Washington has previously imposed sanctions on the company "Baravar Pars" as well. Also, since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Britain has imposed sanctions on more than 1,600 individuals and entities.
On the other hand, the Canadian Foreign Ministry also announced the 13th package of sanctions against the Iranian regime.
Under the sanctions, 7 individuals have been placed on the sanctions list due to their activities that “threaten international peace and security.”
Among these individuals is a former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and other senior officials in the regime who are involved in providing equipment to the Iranian police.
The Canadian Foreign Ministry stated that “the sanctions also target individuals who have significant responsibilities in companies owned by the Iranian regime that produce war and lethal drones or export them to Russia.”
Despite numerous reports and documents, Tehran has repeatedly denied sending drones to Russia for use in the invasion against Ukraine.
Under the Canadian sanctions, individuals subject to the sanctions will be prohibited from entering the country, will face a trade ban, and their potential assets in Canada will be frozen.
It is noted that over the past year, Western countries have repeatedly imposed sanctions on many officials and institutions in the Iranian regime for sending drones to Russia, as well as for suppressing recent Iranian protests.
