Seven Arabic films and a Moroccan film at the opening of the ninth session

In a very enthusiastic atmosphere, the ninth session of the Dublin Arab Film Festival (DAFF) was opened today under the patronage of Irish director Jim Sheridan and Moroccan director Zahra Mufid at the famous Stella cinema hall, where seven Arabic films and a Moroccan film will be screened with the opening of the ninth session with the film "Gaza Mon Amour". The events will continue until the twenty-sixth of November 2022. The Dublin Arab Film Festival was founded in 2014 by the initiative of director Zahra Mufid and Oscar-nominated international director Jim Sheridan in an attempt to give the Irish audience the opportunity to enjoy the best new and classic Arab films ever and also to get to know Arab and Moroccan culture in particular. In this regard, Zahra Mufid, organizer of the international film festival, expressed, "We tried to launch this edition despite the limited available capabilities at the moment, but out of respect for cinema and loyalty to this special annual appointment, we decided to hold this session which was admired by everyone, but there are many important surprises in the tenth session, and I hope and from now until that date, I hope that the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Youth, headed by the young minister who believes in the value of art, supports us even morally because we consider ourselves ambassadors for this great country Morocco, which we see wherever we settle."
The festival, which has been presented and supported since its inception by Dubai Duty Free and a number of Arab embassies including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Palestine, and Morocco, has been participated in by some prominent actors, filmmakers, and celebrities over the years. It is noteworthy that the late international artist Omar Sharif launched the inaugural edition of the Dublin Arab Film Festival in 2014 and was the guest of honor throughout the festival.

Among other famous faces that have supported the festival over the years are The Edge, actress Fionnula Flanagan, singer Damien Dempsey, and actor William Cunningham from the series "Game of Thrones".

This year's festival includes many films that explore the life of Arab women, and the audience will also have the opportunity to watch works by some of the most prominent Arab female directors.
