A new survey conducted by Narrative Research showed that more than half of Canadians intend to travel at some point during 2023.
It stated that 56 percent of about 1200 people who participated in the survey plan to travel this year, while 28 percent will not travel, and 16 percent said they are unsure whether they will travel or not.
The survey results show that men are more likely to plan to travel this year than women, but travel plans among people aged 55 and over have declined.
By analyzing this data according to region, residents of British Columbia, the North, and Ontario are more likely to have greater travel plans compared to residents of Quebec.
Also, when it comes to the destination Canadians plan to go to, the United States and within Canada remain the top two travel destinations, with a quarter of participants saying they plan to travel to the United States and 24 percent will travel somewhere within Canada.
While fewer Canadians, 20 percent, said they have plans to go to Europe, less than one in ten mentioned travel destinations such as East Asia, South America, and Central America.
