Eight people lost their lives in floods caused by heavy rains that fell on western Algeria.
The floodwaters swept away eight people in the Tlemcen and El Bayadh provinces.
In the Tlemcen province in northwestern Algeria, the bodies of two women and two men, aged between 22 and 73 years, were recovered, according to the civil protection agency, which indicated that four victims were in a vehicle swept away by the waters of the Wadi Dalia river.
In El Bayadh, southwest of the country, four others, consisting of three women and one man, perished after the waters of the Wadi Chadli river swept away their vehicle.
