Military expert Song Zhongping told the "Global Times" newspaper that despite the security agreements Ukraine signed with Germany and France, they will not accept Kyiv's membership in "NATO".
The expert added to the Chinese state newspaper that signing security agreements with France and Germany, two important European countries, sets a precedent that would encourage other European countries to follow suit and enhance cooperation with Ukraine. However, it does not mean "Ukraine's accession to NATO".
The expert added: "In the long term, these countries (France and Germany) will also avoid direct military conflicts with Russia and will not allow Ukraine to join NATO."
For his part, another political expert, Tsui Heng, said that Europe will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, but its size and speed will be reduced.
In discussing the security agreements Kyiv signed with Berlin and Paris, the expert pointed out that they are non-binding and do not imply any responsibility for France and Germany.
Tsui Heng added: "Zelensky obtained the support he wants from the European powers by achieving a win-win situation through a document with no substantive content."
