The Canadian Statistics Bureau said that the number of job vacancies rose by 3.8 percent in September to 994,800.
The agency also stated that the monthly increase is largely due to seasonal changes, as job vacancies usually peak in September.
The number of job vacancies in the accommodation and food services sector increased by 12.0 percent to 152,400, while the construction sector saw a rise of 14.0 percent, reaching 93,900.
The number of job vacancies in manufacturing decreased by 11.3 percent to 76,000 in September.
Also, on an annual basis, the Canadian Statistics Bureau said the total number of job vacancies did not change much.
In the same context, the job vacancy rate, measured as the number of job vacancies as a percentage of total labor demand, was 5.7 percent in September, up from 5.4 percent in August, but down to 5.9 percent in September 2021.
