The Canadian Real Estate Association stated that home sales in October recorded their first monthly gain since February. The association also added that sales in October rose by 1.3 percent compared to September.
It also said that sales increased on a monthly basis in October in 60 percent of all local markets, with Greater Vancouver rising by six percent, partly offset by a 2.4 percent decline in Montreal.
The number of newly listed homes also rose by 2.2 percent on a monthly basis in October, while compared to last year, home sales in October decreased by 36 percent.
Also, the national average actual home price reached $644,643 in October, down 9.9 percent from the same month last year.
