Canadian national team's historic scorer Christine Sinclair participated in her country's friendly match against the Australian women's football team, which ended with Canada winning 5-0, in Langford.
This is Sinclair's penultimate international match with her national team before retiring from international play.
Sinclair, who scored 190 goals for Canada over 23 years, participated in the match as a substitute for one of her teammates and received warm applause from the crowd in the stands as she entered the field.
The home team controlled the game against the Australian team, which witnessed several changes in the first friendly match of two scheduled between the teams.
This is the first time the two teams have met since Australia defeated Canada 4-0 in the World Cup last July.
Australian coach Tony Gustavsson made nine changes to the lineup, which had beaten Taiwan in the Olympic qualifiers last month, accordingly Charlie Rowe and Sarah Hunter participated for the first time.
The visitors did not shoot towards the home team's goal in the first hour of the match, while Canadian Nichelle Prince scored two goals in the first half, before Chloe Lacasse, Sydney Ohugo, and Adriana Leon netted goals at the beginning of the second half.
Canadian dominance declined when Gustavsson brought in Manchester City player Mary Fowler, Arsenal player Kiera Koni-Cross, and other experienced international players after the fifth goal.
The team, which reached the World Cup semi-finals, did not concede any new goals for the rest of the match and shot only once near the end.
Australia will meet Canada again next Tuesday.
Australia is preparing to face Uzbekistan next February in the Olympic qualifying rounds.
The friendly match in Vancouver will be Sinclair's last in her career (40 years old) with the Canadian national team.
