The Canadian police have revealed the crime statistics for 2021, which show a noticeable increase in the rate and number of hate crimes against Muslims during the past year.
The report confirms that assaults on Muslims increased by 71% during 2021, which witnessed 144 incidents compared to 84 assaults in 2020, highlighting the significant level Islamophobia has reached in Canada.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims commented on the Canadian police report, saying, "Last year, there was a significant rise in hatred against Muslims. According to official Canadian census figures, we lost Canadian Muslims due to hate in 2021."
This year, there was a dramatic spike of anti-Muslim hate, as per the Stats Canada numbers.

We lost Canadian Muslims to hate in 2021.
These numbers also do not tell the whole story - we know that the numbers of hate crimes vastly exceed what show up in hate crime stats. pic.twitter.com/0eyiiHsdVq
The council also added, "These numbers do not tell the whole story either, as we know that the number of hate crimes against Muslims far exceeds what appears in police statistics."
