In support of the Palestinian cause, during the war that the Gaza Strip has been going through since October 7, 2023, Egyptian rapper Wegz chanted for freedom for Palestine during his concert held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Toronto, Canada.

Wegz and the audience's chant.. "Freedom for Palestine"

Wegz appeared in the video he posted on his official Instagram account, addressing the audience present, indicating his full support for the Palestinian cause.

He asked the audience to start a live broadcast on social media, and then began chanting "Freedom for Palestine," a phrase that the audience echoed back with one voice.

The audience continued to repeat the phrase "Freedom for Palestine" in English, even after he stopped chanting it, only to join their voices again and hold the Palestinian flag afterward.

The Palestinian flag was also present among the crowds that came to attend the concert, as Wegz was not the only one carrying it during that evening, in Canada's largest city, Toronto.

Wegz donates to the people of Gaza

Two days prior to the start of his new tour outside Egypt, Wegz announced that he would donate a portion of his profits to support the people of Gaza.

He posted on his Instagram account revealing the dates and locations of his upcoming concerts, commenting: "As our hearts break for our brothers in Gaza and the ongoing violence, we believe it is essential to use our platform and our voice to stand in solidarity with Palestine during these tragic times."

He added: "We have decided to use this tour and our voice to raise awareness of the ongoing suffering of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, which they have endured for years."

He concluded his post, writing: "In our effort to support our Palestinian people, and all civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, a portion of the profits from our upcoming tour will be donated to relief efforts to alleviate their suffering. We want to provide as much help and awareness as possible."
