The Canadian economy added 64,000 new workers, while the employment increase in Quebec and British Columbia was enough to compensate for the loss of 38,000 jobs in Alberta.
Statistics Canada reported today, Friday, that despite the creation of new jobs, the unemployment rate remained steady at 5.5%.
The increase in jobs was double what economists had expected for this month.
