Dillon Whitehawk was arrested on charges of first-degree murder in Regina.
Whitehawk, 27, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in a separate shooting incident involving Jordan Denton and Kenan Toto in 2019.
Denton died on November 9, 2019, at 800 Robinson Street. Toto was then killed three weeks later on December 1, 2019, in the 1200 block of Queen Street.
Jury deliberations began on Friday after closing arguments and a verdict was reached on Saturday morning.
The jury had the option to find Whitehawk guilty or not guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, or manslaughter based on the evidence presented.
All 12 jurors unanimously decided to convict Whitehawk on both charges.
Whitehawk’s defense said they were disappointed but not surprised by the verdict in what they described as a difficult case with serious allegations. The defense will now consider possible next steps in the appeal process called a “challenge procedure for cause.”
The court was adjourned until May 13.
Sentencing will continue at a later date according to the court. Whitehawk is still on trial for a third charge. The Crown says the charge is still pending but will be tried in September.
