Algeria announced today, Wednesday, that the civil protection has managed to extinguish all the forest fires in the country.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior in Algeria, the forces were able to extinguish 80% of the fires in the country, confirming the continuation of operations to control 13 fire hotspots distributed across 7 states.
It is noted that the forest fires in Algeria have spread to 15 states, causing the death of several civilians, while the Algerian Ministry of Defense announced the death of 10 soldiers and the injury of 25 others due to the fires that hit the forests in Béjaïa.
Interior Minister Ibrahim Mourad stated that the country's authorities are committed to compensating the victims of the forest fires that broke out in several scattered states since the day before yesterday, Monday.
Mourad pointed out in press statements that the state has not forgotten its citizens who were affected by the forest fires, which caused many material losses.
