A huge empire and a wealth estimated in billions of dollars, left by Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Russian Wagner Group, after his death in a plane crash last Wednesday near Moscow along with 9 others, including one of the group's founders, Dmitry Utkin.

Following the crash, observers considered the incident as "revenge for President Vladimir Putin" after the rebellion led by Prigozhin at the end of June, which embarrassed the Russian leader who was trying to tighten his grip on the army, especially after the war in Ukraine began, according to "France Press."

The circumstances of Prigozhin's plane crash and some of his close associates have raised speculations about the possibility of his assassination, as various narratives about the incident have emerged.

Last trip to Africa

The "Wall Street Journal" reports that Prigozhin's last trip to Africa involved coordination between his group and the affiliated militias.

The Wagner empire in Africa comprises about five thousand men across the continent.
His recent movements indicated that he was planning for his future and expanding his network in Africa.
Prigozhin visited the Central African Republic the Friday before last and told the Central African Republic President Faustin Archange that his thwarted rebellion in Russia in June would not prevent him from bringing in new fighters and investments for his business partners in that country.
In his last days, he met with five leaders of the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces, dreaming with them of gifts of gold bars after providing them with surface-to-air missiles from Wagner.
How much is Yevgeny Prigozhin's wealth?

Western newspapers estimate that Yevgeny Prigozhin owns a massive yacht, a private plane, and a net worth estimated at over 1.2 billion dollars.

Yevgeny Prigozhin received contracts from the Russian government worth 2 billion dollars for his military company.
He benefited from the natural resources of African countries, and his companies there made 250 million dollars four years before the war in Ukraine, according to the "Financial Times."
Prigozhin's personal wealth reaches two billion pounds sterling and more than a billion dollars.
The value of the contracts he entered into with Russian government entities such as schools, kindergartens, and the army exceeded 3 billion dollars, according to the "Russian Anti-Corruption Foundation."
Who inherits the wealth of the Wagner leader?

Yevgeny Prigozhin has a son, Pavel, who fought with Wagner in Syria, and daughters Polina and Veronika, as well as his wife Lyubov, all of whom play different roles in shaping Prigozhin's wealth, according to American reports.

His family participates in horse competitions in Germany, France, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, and Spain.
He is known for owning catering companies and restaurants, providing food and drink for official events at the Kremlin.
Following his brief rebellion against the Kremlin last June, Russian forces found nearly 600 million rubles or 6.58 million dollars, gold bars, and weapons during a search of his palace.
In this regard, Vyacheslav Matyushin, a researcher at Tavrisky University in Ukraine, states that the accurate estimation of Wagner's wealth is "difficult," adding that "the principle of controlling Wagner's sources of wealth will not be easy for Russia."

He added: "The 'Eyes on Wagner' research group has examined the records of 30 Wagner companies in Mali, Sudan, and the Central African Republic since Prigozhin's rebellion, without changes in ownership.
