Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates, said: We are pleased to establish a partnership with Air Canada to extend our reach to more points in North America, providing seamless connections for our customers when traveling to other Canadian cities via Toronto. In addition to the valuable benefits and rewarding experiences that travelers on both airlines will enjoy for leisure and business purposes, the partnership also enables Air Canada customers to travel to destinations across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, thanks to our extensive network through our hub in Dubai.
Michael Rousseau, President and CEO of Air Canada, said: The partnership with Emirates expands the range of flight options for our customers. It provides easier connecting flights between Canada and destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. The partnership also attracts more passenger traffic through our global hub in Toronto and expands our presence in dynamic regions with great future opportunities for global travel demand growth. Emirates customers can book codeshare flights to and from the following Canadian points via Toronto: Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, and Vancouver.
Air Canada will place its code on flights operated by Emirates from its Dubai hub, extending the Canadian carrier’s reach across the Indian subcontinent and opening more destinations for its customers, including travelers to Colombo, Dhaka, Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.
Air Canada customers enjoy seamless connections when traveling to destinations in Southeast Asia, including Bangkok, Hanoi, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jeddah, and Muscat in the Middle East, as well as destinations in Africa such as Addis Ababa and Dar es Salaam.
Emirates and Air Canada will soon offer their customers the ability to exchange loyalty program benefits, allowing Aeroplan and Skywards members to earn and redeem points and miles on flights operated by both Emirates and Air Canada. Eligible travelers can also benefit from lounge access and selected privileges for Aeroplan Elite and Skywards members when traveling on either airline’s flights. More details and launch dates will be announced later.
