More than 400 American political officials working in various state units sent a message to President Joe Biden protesting the government's policy regarding the occupation state, expressing their protest against the American support for Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, according to what the American newspaper "The New York Times" reported yesterday, Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

The letter stated, "We urge President Biden to urgently demand a ceasefire and call for an end to the escalation of the current conflict by ensuring the immediate release of Israeli and arbitrarily detained Palestinian hostages, and delivering adequate humanitarian aid through the restoration of water, fuel, electricity, and other essential services in Gaza."

The letter also confirmed that according to opinion polls, the majority of Americans support a ceasefire in Gaza, adding, "Moreover, Americans do not want the army to be dragged into another costly and futile war in the Middle East."

The newspaper quoted officials who contributed to preparing the letter and sending it to Biden, saying that the majority of the signatories are politicians of different beliefs working in various institutions from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to the National Security Council and the Department of Justice.

Also, the two officials who preferred to remain anonymous confirmed that the figures signing the letter played a significant role in Biden's presidential election, and according to the news, the letter contains the signatures of more than 400 politicians and employees representing about 40 government institutions.

The American newspaper The Washington Post reported that a group of civil society organizations in the United States urged President Joe Biden's administration to stop supplying the occupation army with artillery shells, confirming the increasing pressures Washington faces due to its support for the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

In a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, more than 30 relief, human rights, and religious organizations based in the United States, such as Oxfam America, Amnesty International, and the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC), expressed their concern about the Pentagon's intention to supply the Israeli Defense Forces with 155mm artillery shells.
