Liberals announced additional military aid to Ukraine worth $650 million, spread over several years.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered an impassioned speech to lawmakers on Friday, urging Canada and other Western allies to stand by his country during the long, bloody road to victory.
Zelensky addressed a joint session of the Canadian Parliament on Friday following meetings in the United States, where he called for more weapons and reproached Russia before the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council.
Zelensky told the House of Commons in a speech that received at least a dozen rounds of applause: "Life and justice must prevail."
As Ukrainian refugees looked on from the gallery, Zelensky thanked Canada for its ongoing support dating back to 1983, when the world's first memorial honoring the victims of the Holodomor - the Soviet-engineered famine that killed millions of Ukrainians in the 1930s - was unveiled in Edmonton.

Zelensky also added that Moscow, as always, is determined to control Ukraine and is using all available means to do so, including genocide.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday additional military aid of $650 million for Ukraine, spread over three years, to purchase 50 armored vehicles. He stated that the fleet would include medical evacuation vehicles to be built in London, Ontario.
