The U.S. Treasury Department announced today, Wednesday, that the United States and Britain have imposed new sanctions on officials in the "Hamas" movement and intermediaries with it.

The department mentioned that the sanctions target eight individuals who work to maintain Hamas activity by representing the movement's interests abroad and managing its financial affairs.

It is noteworthy that this is the fourth U.S. sanctions package on "Hamas" since the beginning of October 7.

The last was on November 14, when the United States announced a series of new sanctions imposed in coordination with the United Kingdom on officials in "Hamas" and associated individuals, especially an official in the Islamic Jihad movement.

The department also indicated that the individuals targeted by the sanctions include the Islamic Jihad representative in Iran, Nasser Abu Sharif, and the Islamic Jihad leader Akram al-Ajouri, as well as Nabil Shoman Exchange Company based in Lebanon, accused of conducting transfers between Hamas and Tehran.

The British sanctions coordinated with Washington also target 4 senior leaders in Hamas and two financiers.
