The famous Turkish actress Merve Calıp ended her life by shooting herself in the head at the age of 36, according to Turkish newspapers.
Merve Calıp took her life in her home in the Dalaman area of Muğla province, where she shot herself in the head using a licensed pistol belonging to her father.
Residents reported hearing gunshots from the second-floor balcony of the residential building on Gazi Street in Dalaman, prompting them to call emergency services. Police and ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene.
The medical teams conducted the necessary examination and confirmed the death of the Turkish actress, and investigation teams transferred her body to the morgue of the forensic medicine institute for the necessary autopsy.
The Turkish actress participated in several television series, including Sakarya Fırat, Küçük Günahlar, Hayaller ve Umutlar, Elif, A Matter of Honor, and Warrior.
Calıp graduated from the acting department at Süleyman Demirel University in Isparta and worked at the Istanbul State Theatre for about a year and a half before moving into alternative theater.
