Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for parts of Southern Ontario, with hail expected in some locations.
The Canadian Environmental Agency has issued the warnings as weather conditions could lead to "severe thunderstorms," with wind speeds expected to reach 100 km/h and hail. Heavy rain may also fall on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
Among the affected areas are Belleville, Dunville, the Durham region, Simcoe, the Kawartha Lakes, Lindsay, the Niagara region, Peterborough, and parts of York Region.
The weather warning for Northern Durham states that "large hail can cause property damage and injury," adding that strong winds can damage buildings and break tree branches.
The Canadian Environmental Agency advises residents to take shelter in their homes if thunder occurs.
